Sex & Relationship Therapy
for Individuals & Couples
Virtual & In-Person in Long Beach, CA

Want to Feel Sexually Empowered?

Sexual empowerment begins with understanding yourself—your needs, desires, boundaries, and experiences. Whether you’re facing challenges in intimacy, navigating relationship concerns, healing from past experiences, or simply wanting a deeper connection with your sexuality, therapy can provide a supportive space for growth, healing, and self-discovery. You deserve to experience confidence, connection, and fulfillment in your intimate life.

My approach is warm, direct, compassionate, and practical.

I believe that sexual concerns rarely exist in isolation. Often, challenges in intimacy are connected to communication patterns, relationship dynamics, past experiences, self-esteem, stress, anxiety, or unresolved emotional wounds.

Together, we’ll explore the deeper factors contributing to your struggles while building the tools and confidence needed to create meaningful change.

This is a collaborative process. I won’t tell you what’s “normal” or what your relationship should look like. Instead, I’ll help you better understand yourself, your needs, your desires, and the relationships that matter most to you.

Talking about sex can feel uncomfortable, confusing, or even shameful—but it doesn’t have to be.

Throughout my career, I’ve seen how many people struggle silently with sexual concerns, relationship challenges, intimacy issues, and past experiences that affect their ability to connect with themselves and others. Too often, people believe they’re the only ones experiencing these difficulties.

They’re not.

My passion is helping individuals and couples move beyond shame, fear, frustration, and disconnection so they can experience greater confidence, communication, pleasure, and intimacy.

Whether you’re navigating low desire, sexual anxiety, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, painful experiences from the past, relationship conflict, or simply want a healthier connection with your sexuality, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

I’ve dedicated my career to creating a safe, judgment-free space where people can openly discuss topics that are often difficult to talk about elsewhere.

Liz Dubé, MA, MS
AASECT Certified Sex Therapist
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist #80113

I can help you get beyond low-desire, premature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, sex-related fears, anxiety, guilt, shame, obsessive behaviors, or past sexual traumas/rape/child abuse that may be impacting your relationships and intimacy.

Together we will work on developing healthy skills for coping with life’s difficulties, gaining the strength to overcome sex and intimacy issues, and more effective ways for communicating about sex, intimacy, sexual desires, sexual fears, and sexual problems, to ultimately create greater satisfaction in your relationships and life.

We find that most problems with sex are driven by things that are not directly related to the actual act of sex – it’s all that other stuff.

Stuff like insecurities about our bodies, beliefs we have about what good sex looks like, how men and women are supposed to perform sexually, overall dissatisfaction in our relationships related to unresolved conflict, resentment towards our partner, communication difficulties, respect, loyalty, trust, etc.

You are not the only one! I am asked on a daily basis “Is my sexual problem normal?” And I always tell my clients “I don’t use the word normal.” Is your sexual problem typical? Probably.

Friends and family members don’t talk openly or honestly about sex, sexual problems, sexual pleasure, or sexual satisfaction like other life challenges. This makes it difficult to know what or who to go to if you are struggling with your sexual or intimate relationships or even just working on empowering your sexual self.

Movies and Media make sex look so easy and this is unrealistic. Sex and intimacy can be difficult, people and relationships are complicated, and sometimes we need help to create satisfying intimate relationships and to find our own sexual satisfaction. This is where sex therapy and counseling comes in.

Client Testimonials…

“I want to thank you again for all of your help and support. You created such a comfortable, safe, and encouraging environment, and that made all the difference for me. Your insight and feedback truly helped me on my journey, and I’m forever grateful for that.”

Individual Sex Therapy Client

“I thought something was wrong with me. Liz helped me realize my body wasn’t broken. She’s warm, direct, and somehow makes talking about sex feel normal. My sex life is better than it’s been in years.”

Individual Sex Therapy Client

“She says the things no one else will say. We had seen two therapists before Liz and we all danced around the issue. Liz didn’t. She was kind but also real—and that’s exactly what we needed. We finally understand each other sexually.”

Couple’s Therapy Client

“I went from avoiding sex to actually wanting it again. Menopause hit and everything changed. Liz helped me understand what was happening AND gave me the resources, referrals, and tools that actually worked. I feel like myself again—but better.”

Individual Sex Therapy Client

“It wasn’t just about sex—it was about all the unresolved stuff we were stuck on. We didn’t realize how much tension we were carrying into the bedroom. Liz helped us empathise with one another, communicate, and rebuild trust. The physical connection followed.”

Couple’s Therapy Client

“She made us laugh about things we used to be embarrassed about. Talking about sex used to turn into avoidance or an argument. Liz somehow made it feel lighter, without minimizing anything. We’re finally on the same team.”

Couple’s Therapy Client

“We stopped guessing and started understanding. The exercises Liz gave us completely changed how we approach intimacy. We realized we had totally different ‘maps’ and expectations but didn’t know how to talk about it. Now it actually feels fun again.”

Couple’s Therapy Client

“Direct, compassionate, and incredibly effective. Liz doesn’t waste time getting to the topics that impact sex, but you never feel rushed or judged. She helped us make more progress in a few sessions than we had in years with our general couples therapist.”

Couple’s Therapy Client

“I finally feel desired again—and I didn’t think that was possible. We were stuck in a rut for a long time. Liz helped us reignite desire in a way that felt natural, not forced. I feel seen in a way I haven’t in years.”

Couple’s Therapy Client

“This work wasn’t easy but you helped me trust the process. Thank you for gently pushing me out of my comfort zone while making it feel safe. I wanted intimacy but had been avoiding it for a long time. You helped me to understand myself and practice vulnerability in a way I didn’t think was possible.”

Individual Sex Therapy Client

“I didn’t know how much I was in my head. Liz gave me practical tools—not just talk—to get out of anxiety during sex. I’m more present, more confident, and finally enjoying sex again.”

Individual Sex Therapy Client

“She has an amazing ability to remember things I’ve shared in past sessions and bring them back in a way that creates insight and continuity. It makes every session feel thoughtful and genuine. I’ve consistently felt understood working with her and it really means a lot to me.”
